China Grove, N.C. native BOB “B.D.” WISE is WAYWARD REASONS’ percussionist (or like they used to call him back in the day, the drummer.) Bob started beating things around the house at a very early age, until he discovered music, and drums. His first ‘drums’ were not drums at all, but cardboard boxes and plastic containers. Music did run in his family though; his father is avid musician as well! B.D. also got another trait from his father; the knack for building. As well as being a top drummer, he is also a licensed building contractor. But his ability for building doesn’t just apply to physical structures; he also has a keen sense of building music groups! Back in the early ‘80’s, he was playing with a band called Southern Gold. They were going through some changes. By shear luck, he became acquainted with fellow bandmate Marty Lefler, who was in another band with bandmate Danny Billings. B.D. took Marty and Danny to a recording studio to meet 2 other friends of his, and it was “musical love” at the first note!!! Southern Gold eventually disbanded, but B.D. and Marty seemed to stay together through other bands and have had almost a 30 year “partnership!” Both were in The MotherLode, which opened for many of the top names in music, such as Lynard Skynard, .38 Special, John Anderson, Steve Wariner, and many, many more! During his years as a drummer, B.D. has played in country, gospel, rock -n- roll, alternative, and even heavy metal groups!! He is as versitale as he is talented and will adapt to whatever style music is thrown at him. He is a cornerstone of Wayward Reason, and the group would not be the same without him!!
Hobbies: NASCAR, fishing, gardening, camping, spending time with his grandkids, baseball, horseshoes, concerts, video games, football, basketball, spending time with friends, and a whole lot more (but I’m not gonna take up this whole page just to tell you all the many things some drummer likes to do!!!).
Influences: The Charlie Daniels Band, Lynard Skynard, The Allman Brothers Band, Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, The Marshall Tucker Band, and lots more!!!
