Danny Billings is the bass player for Wayward Reason. He’s also doing some harmony vocals, and well, he’s also the boss. I mean.... He’s the boss!!! (Big smile :-) ) Seriously, Danny was the architect for this group, so we do owe him many thanks!! (as well as money for this and that!) He started playing bass in a bluegrass group his brother had. His first bass was an old upright they got from a pawn shop for $30.00!! By the age of 9, he was already a stage veteran, and by 13, had just as much stage time experience as some of the major players in the business!!! A native of Charlotte, N.C., Danny has played in a wide variety of bands with many different genres of music and has opened for various Recording Artists such as David Allen Coe, Zac Brown Band and Jamey Johnson. At age 18, he and fellow band member Marty Lefler, were in Kinsey’s Raiders together, then joined drummer B.D. Wise in Southern Gold, and today, they are the core members of Wayward Reason!! Danny probably couldn’t tell you 2 lines from a song, but he is most definitely the one you want doing the bass part of that song!!! He has been hailed by MANY, and is known as one of the best bass players to be found anywhere!!! (But don’t tell HIM that!! We don’t need him gettin’ big headed!!!) As well as playing bass and doing harmony with WR, Danny and WR sound tech John Furr, own Audio Tech Productions, a full service recording studio that provides a very extensive list of services for groups, soloists, etc. Danny’s main focus is the production of a song; the mixing and getting it to sound its absolute best! Even though he’s doing the production part at the studio, Danny’s first love is playing and performing, and it shows when he’s on stage! Wayward Reason I guess, IS his baby, and with him playing for the group, you can be granted that this baby is being WELL cared for!!!!!
